Started as a recording of cars passing by on a highway. Then placed a speaker inside a large empty gas cylinder used in factory production facilities and re-recorded the output of the speaker with the internal reverberations of the gas cylinder to create the spaceship's engine. Then used pitch modulation, mechanical foley recordings and recordings of burning rocket motors and helium cylinder valves to create the sounds of landing gears and thrusters as the ship comes in for landing. Inspired by the same design techniques used in the creation of starship engine sounds in films and games such as Star Wars, Mass Effect and Star Citizen.
