This metallophone has keys that rest on a low-trough resonator. It's also one of the highest registers of pitches in a gamelan ensemble and can alternate between being 'led' by the bonang barung or interlocking with it during lively sections. The instrument was borrowed from the Haus der Indonesischen Kulturen – Rumah Budaya Indonesia – (RBI) in Berlin, performed by Bilawa Ade Respati and recorded by Rabih Beaini at Morphine Raum in Berlin in May 2023.
